Le Conseil Départemental Isère has created Transaltitude to differentiate its standard transport offer, aimed at regular users (home-work/school flows), from transport offered to occasional users (leisure time flows) during the winter season.
Transaltitude services are tailored to transport tourists (holidaymakers and locals) towards ski resorts in the mountains surrounding Grenoble. Departures are from Grenoble coach station and provide connections with SNCF trains and airport shuttles.
Bus services to resorts : Les 2 Alpes, Chamrousse, Les 7 Laux, L'Alpe du Grand Serre, Villard-Reculas, L'Alpe d'Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany, Lans-en-Vercors, Villard-de-Lans, Autrans Méaudre en Vercors et Corrençon-en-Vercors.
The timetable for Transaltitude coaches is set to coincide with the arrival and departure times of both the busiest SNCF trainlines stopping at Grenoble, and the airport shuttles from Lyon St Expéry and Genève Aéroport.
The operation of the Transaltitude lines, commercial development and promotion are entrusted to VFD as part of a Public Service Delegation contract.
