Travel with a valid ticket

Passengers may travel if they have paid for their seat. On payment, travellers are issued with a ticket.
For purchases made online or by phone, a photo id or a proof of discount may be asked for at boarding when a passenger shows their travel ticket.

Section I.1 - Free travel

Beneficiaries: Children under 2 travelling on the knees of an adult, space permitting.

Section II.2 - Rates and Ticket offers

Fares are in euros and tax-inclusive. The fares applied are those displayed the day the ticket is bought. These fares are available at www.transaltitude.fr and are displayed at Transaltitude ticket offices.

Card with name and photo sold by VFD agencies and valid for 20 one-way journeys - must be used during the 2011/2012 winter season.

Offer available for a day return and includes a voucher which is exchanged for a day ski pass at the ski resort.
TTI (Trans ‘ Tourisme Isère) members benefit from reduced Skiligne rates at Alpe d'Huez and Prapoutel ski resorts (A valid TTI PASS must be shown at boarding).
Accompanied luggage
(See section III.2)
- Extra luggage fee = 8.00€ per bag for all luggage except for passenger Luggage Pack.
- Non-standard or XXL luggage fee is 16.00€

Travel tickets are valid for the journey, day and departure time indicated on the ticket.

Section III.1 - Times

Times are not contractually binding: they have been established according to average weather and traffic conditions. Thus, the carrier shall not incur liability for the non-performance of the sales conditions herewith due to force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances. Force majeure applies to any unpredictable, unpreventable and insurmountable external event or circumstance beyond the control of the affected Party, which prevents the carrier from fulfilling all or part of its obligations. In all cases, the carrier shall do everything possible to limit the duration and effects of the unforeseeable circumstance, force majeure or external event. Section III.2 - Accompanied luggage

A TRANSALTITUDE ticket includes the transport of one luggage pack per person which includes: 1 suitcase or travel bag (placed in the hold) + 1 piece of hand luggage (placed in the overhead compartments) + 1 pair of ski boots (in the hold) + 1 pair of skis (in the hold). Any additional luggage or any over-sized or overweight luggage shall be charged according to the going rates.
The customer is responsible at all times for any hand luggage kept on board: it must not obstruct the aisle or emergency exits. Any object exceeding 5 kg and longer or wider than 50 cm, must be stored in the luggage hold and will incur extra cost. Any luggage left unattended near the coaches before boarding or disembarking will not be taken into account by the driver.

Luggage loading conditions

Luggage must not exceed 20 kg per person. Any luggage exceeding these conditions shall be considered non-standard and charged as such according to the going carrier rates. The following is prohibited on board: any hazardous, unsanitary, corrosive, inflammable, explosive or gas substances.
The customer cannot hold VFD liable in the event of damage caused to luggage by deficient or incorrect packing and packaging.

Theft or damage in the hold

The carrier is responsible for hold luggage.
However, the carrier is not liable for cash, bank notes or any other paper money, jewellery, and precious or valuable objects. Should the carrier be found liable for any loss or damage, compensation may be awarded on presentation of a proof of purchase
not exceeding €150 and allowing for fair wear and tear.

Carriage of bikes and mail

The carriage of bikes and mail is prohibited on buses.

Section III.3 - Access to vehicules

The carrier reserves the right to refuse that a passenger boards for the following reasons:
Any person whose condition is considered to affect the safety and comfort of other passengers and the quality of the service provided .

Section III.4 - Accompanied animals

Dogs held on a leash and muzzled are authorized on board along with cats and other pets held in cages and placed on knees. Large dogs are authorized as long as they travel on a full fare ticket and are muzzled, attached and travel on the floor at the customer's feet.
Dogs are not permitted in the aisle or on seats.
Category 1 attack dogs are not permitted on board.
The carriage of exotic animals is prohibited.

Section III.5 - Claims

To exchange or cancel a ticket, you must send the original copies to our office.
